Show Tentative I C AC Meet Set For Bronco Nine Maybe the ranchers, farmers and ordinary good citizens of Cedar Ce-dar City have been thrilled with the storms of the past two weeks according to baseball coach Cleo Peity of the College of Southern Utah, but as a result tryouts and workouts have been hampeied considerably for the Intermountain Collegiate Athletic Conference baseball schedule due to open next week. Coach Petty, lined up with approximately ap-proximately 18 boys who show a lot ot promise for the season this year, indicated that deviations devia-tions from the proposed schedule sched-ule wili probably be made. However, How-ever, until postponements have been announced the schedule reads as follows: April 8, Carbon at C S U, Snow at Dixie. April 9 Snow at C S U, Carbon Car-bon at Dixie. April 16. C S U at Dixie, Snow at Carbon. April 22. C S U at Carbon, Dixie Dix-ie at Snow. April 23, C S U at Snow, Dixie Dix-ie at Carbon. April 30, Dixie at C S U, Carbon Car-bon at Snow. Although very little time has been given to workouts because of the weather, Coach Petty has placed the boys in various positions posi-tions for the season. The pitching staff will probably prob-ably include Jack Shipp, Ray Robinson, and Don L. Spencer. Sherm Lee, chosen as captain for this season, will be called on for catching duty with Meilin Theobald Theo-bald possibly doing some relief work at that position. Gordon Sargent has pretty well assured himself of the first base position but four men are trying out for second base, including Don Ray Moiling, Bradley Johnson. Gary Cajlister and Dan Randall. Rex Erickson and John Wood will fill the shortstop vacancy and Robinson, Rob-inson, Dave Magleby and James Rice wiU be jockeying for the third bace position. Outfielders will include Harold Har-old Sorenson, Jerry Conger, Tory-ry Tory-ry Sellers, Jack Soper and Erickson. Erick-son. Definite scheduling will be announced an-nounced next week, Coach Petty indicated. I |
