Show Armed Forces Day Celebration Features Guard Show President Dwight D. Eisenhower, Eisen-hower, Governor J. Bracken Lee of the state of Utah and Mayor Arnold Anderson of Cedar City, have by proclamation, declared the week of May 10 through 15 as Armed Forces Week. Armed Forces Day will be celebrated cele-brated on Saturday, May 15. The slogan, "Power for Peace" has been considered so descriptive of our national effort that it has been retained for this year's observance, ob-servance, according to J. Frank Dalley, commander of the 202nd Field Artillery Battalion, national guard unit in this area. According to Col. Dalley, National Na-tional Guard equipment will be displayed at the Cedar City park on Saturday afternoon after which which there will be a parade pa-rade of the Cedar City High School and Junior High School bands down Main Street. The display dis-play will be erected for the purpose pur-pose of familiarizing the public with the equipment and the personnel per-sonnel of the Hq. and Hq. Battery located in Cedar City. Everyone has been extended an invitation to inspect the equipment. equip-ment. Free jeep rides will be given gi-ven the youngsters and also the new 2 Vi ton hydramatic vehicle capable of operating under approximately ap-proximately eight feet of water will be demonstrated. |
