Show NEWCASTLE HEWS flOTES Tullis Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Thompson and daughter, Dixie, of Circleville were visitors Tuesday at the home of their brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Gillies. They were accompanied by Joe Gillies of Elko, Nev., a brother of Mr. Giliies whom he had not seen for 10 years. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Mun-ford Mun-ford of Cedar City visited here last week with relatives and friends. Sheldon Bowler, who underwent under-went an appendectomy last week, is now back home and is reported report-ed to be recovering satisfactorily. Mrs. Robert Clark and daughter, daugh-ter, Bonnie Boa, were recent visitors vis-itors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Piatt. Alonzo Christensen will attend the State Soil Conservation Committee Com-mittee meeting in Provo this Friday and Saturday. Danny Tullis was given a party in honor of his sixth birthday Thursday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Monte Sorenson and family spent Mother's Day in Alton visiting Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Baldwin, parents of Mrs. Sorenson. I A very fine program was pre-' pre-' sented in Sunday School on Mother's Day. At the close of the program each mother was presented pre-sented with a lovely potted plant. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Ward spent the week end in Salt Lake City. Mr. Ward is the Newcastle Republican Re-publican delegate and attended the State Republican convention. Mr. and Mrs. Truman Blake spent part of last week in Salt Lake City on business. Stake I atriarch George W. Grimshaw and Elder Douglas Jackson were speakers in Sacrament Sacra-ment meeting Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Harrison and family and Mr. and Mrs. Warren Piatt and family spent Sunday afternoon in New Harmony. Har-mony. Mr. and Mrs. Kumen Gardner spent Sunday afternoon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Gillies. |
