Show Carol Ann Parry Heads for Salt Lake find Miss Utah-Miss America Pageant "Miss Cedar City," lovely Carol Ann Parry, will compete with ovei 40 of Utah's most talented girls for the title of "Miss Utah" at the Utah-Miss America pag-ent, pag-ent, Friday and Saturday, May 14 and 15 at Salt Lake City. I Miss Parry is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gronway Parry of Cedar City and her candidacy to the local title was sponsored by the Kiwanis Club. Her entrance in the state and national competition com-petition is being handled by Jhe Junior Chamber of Commerce. . - V::,tf ; ; f. ; . . : .i y : ( : ! j i v I I 1 ' I -iiii . it i . t ...:" 1 I - ' - ""V I,,, I j CAROL ANN PARRY Co-sponsored by the Utah Jay-cees Jay-cees and radio station KUTA, the Utah pageant will select a candidate can-didate to represent the state at the Miss America Pageant at Atlantic At-lantic City, N. J., in September. State chairmen are J. Thomas Fyans, Salt Lake City and Mrs. Virginia Howard, who will coach Utah's entry into the national finals. The two-day pageant will begin be-gin Friday afternoon with regis-tration regis-tration at Hotel Utah. A preliminary prelim-inary test will be held in the studios of radio station KUTA. Saturday morning the candidates will breakfast with judges. In the afternoon a parade will be held in downtown Salt Lake City. Final judging and selection of Miss Utah will be at Kingsbury Hall, University of Utah, Satur-day Satur-day evening. The candidates will each present a talent routine and will be judged according to beauty, beau-ty, intelligence, poise, personality, personali-ty, and talent. |
