Show New City Ordinance Provides Zone for No Left Hand Turns The Cedar City Council, approving ap-proving a traffic safety measure for Main Street recommended by Police Chief Tony Lambert some time ago, adopted an ordinance this week to put the recommendation recommend-ation into effect. The ordinance is published in this week's issue! of the Iron County Record andj will become effective Wednesday, ' June 2. The traffic regulations to be put into effect provides that noi left hand turn can be made onto' Main Street between Center and 200 North Streets. It provides that cars entering Main Street in that section of Main Street, from Lincoln, Lin-coln, Hoover or Harding avenues or from the parking lot on the library grounds, must make a right hand turn and enter with the flow of traffic, thus avoiding avoid-ing crossing in front of traffic and then making a left hand turn with the flow of traffic on the oppoiste side of the street. A left hand turn may be made to leave the street onto either of the avenues or the parking lot, but not entering the street Violation of the regulation is declared de-clared to be a misdemeanor, punishable pun-ishable by a fine up to $209.00. |
