Show Yater Meeting Again Set For Cedar City Another meeting of the water users of Iron county and the members of the Utah Water and Power Board will be held Saturday, Sat-urday, January 7, at 9:30 a. m. in the City and County building in Cedar City. Directors from the Utah Water and Power Board who are expected ex-pected to be present are William K. Wallace, president, and Thomas Tho-mas Jensen, secretary treasurer. treasur-er. Representatives of all Iron county water groups and all county water users are urged to attend this important meeting. The general public is also invited invit-ed to attend. Possible water increases for Iron county are being studied by individual groups and the Water find Power Board. A similar meeting meet-ing was held in Cedar City a week ago. A motion at that time asked that the Utah Water and Power Board make preliminary surveys fis to the feasibility of turning the headwaters of the Virgin River into Cedar valley. The study stu-dy is aimed at determining the possibility of transmountain diversions. di-versions. Iron county is working in conjunction con-junction with Washington county coun-ty in considering the water problem prob-lem and working out possible solutions. During Thursday's meeting, water users from Newcastle met with the Board to discuss a possible pos-sible reservoir for Newcastle. The group will compile information on the proiect and will present nn economic survey of the area at a monthly meeting of the Board in Salt Lake City January Janu-ary 21. |
