Glass (R) city treasurer. :;ts New Republican Administration Takes City Offices Dr. L. V. Broadbent took over the reins of the city administration administra-tion Tuesday, January 2, from the former mayor, Gronway R. Parry, during a short official ceremony in the City and County Luilding. All incoming and reelected city officials took the oath of office along with Mayor Broadbent. Douglas Clark, county commissioner, commis-sioner, administered the oath of olfice. New and reelected officials besides be-sides Mayor Broadbent are Joe Fakler (R), four-year councilman; council-man; Frank Milne (D), four-year four-year councilman; Marion F. Grames R), two-year councilman; council-man; Gail Seegmiller (R), 2-year councilman; Zelma R. Glass (R), treasurer, and Ellen A. Simkins (R), clerk. Holdover councilman is H. E. Christensen (D). Prior to the new administration administra-tion taking office, the old city council canvassed the vote returns re-turns on the recent revenue bond ejection, accepting the results pnd passing an ordinance to accept ac-cept them. On the white ballot, the results were 876 "for" and 775 "against". On the blue ballot, there were 677 voting "yes" and 586 voting "no". |
