Show Plans for Eleven-Man Eleven-Man Football at Cedar High Delayed An attempt has been made during the past year to have eleven-man football Introduced at the Cedar City high school this fall to replace the six-man game now played. However, the hopes of school officials, of-ficials, students and townspeople that this change could be made have not materialized. Inability to obtain adequate equipment to field an eleven -man team has postponed the change for another year, according ac-cording to Pratt M. Bethers, Principal Prin-cipal of the Cedar City high school. Mr. Bethers, states, however, that the change will definitely be made next year. The local school will withdraw from the six-man league and enter competition with Delta and Fillmore, and perhaps one or two other schools In this district. The change to the eleven-man game, would give more students a chance at participation, would better bet-ter prepare local high school student stud-ent for college participation, and would bring greater recognition to the players and the school. In addition ad-dition it would strengthen the six-man six-man league by giving the smaller schools a better chance for championship champ-ionship laurels. |
