Show Parties Keep Ticket Possibilities Secret If the Democratic party of Cedar Ce-dar City has any plans for placing a ticket in the field for the coming municipal election, its members must be good at keeping secrets. At least we have been unable to get any information as to any possible possi-ble candidates for the city administrative admin-istrative offices. The Republicans are not so secretive, se-cretive, but they don't seem to have any particular candidates in mind for the various offices, although it is assumed that a number of the present officer holders will be nam-lnated nam-lnated for re-election. The situation with regards to tha party candidate for Mayor does not seem to change, with the party apparently ap-parently willing to back Mayor M. P. Higbee for re-election, but with Councilman M. C. Roberts the most likely choice for the post if Higbee does not choose to run. Most of the present City Council-men, Council-men, Edwin L. Peterson, Parson U Webster, Heber M. Sevy, and Karl Heyborne, will be on the ticket. Roberts' term of office is for two more years. During the past two weeks the names of Homer S. Jones, manager and owner of the Zlon Picture Shop, and Herschell M. Neeley, manager and owner of the Westslde Grocery, have been frequently mentioned as possible candidates for council posts. Warren H. Bulloch, past chairman of the Board of Iron County Commissioners Com-missioners and currently President of the Cedar City Chamber of Commerce, Com-merce, seems to be drawing consid-ly consid-ly support from individual Democrats Demo-crats for the nomination for Mayor, but it is rumored that Bulloch would not accept the nomination. It is also rumored that Oronway Parry, Democratic candidate for Mayor on two previous occasions, will definjte-ly definjte-ly not be in the race for any office tills year. Clarence E. Miller, former form-er City Councilman and operator of the Miller Auto Parts, is frequently mentioned as a possible candidate for Mayor. There is also some indication that the Democrats will place a complete ticket of "young" men in the race, or perhaps name an "all G I." ticket. |
