Show Veterans Unaware Of Terminal Leave Deadline Extention Judging from the inquiries received re-ceived by the Veterans Administration Administra-tion and service organizations, a number of veterans are unaware that the deadline for applying for terminal leave bonds has been extended ex-tended until Sept. l, 1946, accord-uig accord-uig to C. C. Coffey, local contact representative. Until that date, payment pay-ment may be requested either by bonds or cash. Hie bonds become cashable on Sept. 1, 1947, at any bank, savings and loan institution and other financial institutions designated as a paying agent by the Treasury. Although it is not absolutely necessary to present original orig-inal discharge papers when cashing the bonds, sufficient identification must be produced to show that the money is received by the right per. son. Terminal bonds cannot be sold or transferred. They draw 2ft per cen,t interest over the live-yeai period from date of issue. ' |
