Russell Edwin Anderson, 65, was found dead In his bed early Wednesday Wed-nesday morning, apparently having died in his sleep sometime before midnight. Although Mr. Anderson had been in poor health for several years, he had apparently been feeling normal when he retired at about 9 p. m. Tuesday, except thut he had complained of a slight pain In his chest. His death was discovered discover-ed when Mrs. Anderson went to his room early Wednesday morning. The deceased had lived In Cedar City since 1923, and had served as as Western Union telegraph oper ator in July, 1942. During his life hTre he had been active in the Franklin Lodge of Masons, holding a number of offices In that organization. organ-ization. He was treasurer at the time of his death He was born in Westernvllle, New York, on August 20, 1882, a son of Edwin and Bell Thornton Anderson. Ander-son. At the age of three-yean he moved with his family to North Carolina, when he remained untiK he was seventeen years of age. After Af-ter moving to Missouri for a short time, he went to California, where he was employed by the Southern Pacific Railroad company until 1916, when he transfcred to Mie Union Pacific. On May 18, 1918 he married Miss Minnie Gould of Parowan. who with six children survives him Edwin Anderson, a son by a former form-er marriage, California; Mrs. Ruby Seegmlller, Ryland Onderson, and Marlon Anderson, Cedar City; Mrs Romayne Harris, iUnols, and Mrs Lora Prince, New Harmony; eight grandchildren, and two brokers, A. V. Anderson, Glendale, California, Califor-nia, and D. H. Anderson, CalUnesa, California. Funeral arrangements have not been definitely made, pending word from Mrs. Harris and Ryland who are In Illinois |
