Show Forest Officials Address Rotarians The newly elected officers of the Cedar City Rotary Club took over their official duties Tuesday at the regular weekly luncheon meeting of the club at the Escalante Hotel The program, under the direction of the Program Committee, wis handled by Blaine Betensen. C. N. Woods, a member of the Ogden Rotary Club and regional director of the National Forest Service Ser-vice with headquarters in Ogden, made a few brief remarks regarding regard-ing the activities of the Safety Council of Utah, and introduced Chester Olsen, also of the regional forest office in Ogden, who gave a very interesting talk in which he enlarged upon the work being done by the Safety Council. Mr. Olsen pointed out that much depends upon up-on the attitude of the public, if we are to make progress in reducing traffic accidents ir. the state of Utah. In addition to the two guest speakers, Wlllard Jones of Enterprise, Enter-prise, Lee Hayward, who is a member mem-ber of the Boulder City, Nevada Rotary club, and H. E. Petersen of San Luis Obispo, California, were guests at the luncheon. Mr. Petersen, Peter-sen, a former member of the local club, gave a short description of army life. The program for the next meeting meet-ing of the c'.ub will be under the direction of a representative of the Cedar City Junior Chamber of Commerce. & |
