Show Draft Lottery Scheduled For Thursday, July 17 The lottery for the newly registered regis-tered men of 21 will be held in Washington, D. C. on Thursday, July 17, it was announced Wednesday Wednes-day evening .by selective service headquarters. A total of 750 numbers num-bers will be drawn, but will involve the order of service of an estimated 750,000 registrants. Secretary of War Stimson will be invited to draw the first number from the same glass jar out of which thousands of numbers were taken in the draft lottery last October, Oc-tober, when the order of service was determined for 16,500,000 men. Colonel Col-onel Charles R. Morris of Elizabeth. N. J., who was the man who blindfolded blind-folded President Wilson preliminary to drawing the first draft number In the first World War, will also be present to fix the blindfold over Secretary Stimson's eyes, Melon-pink capsules, instead of the cobalt-blue which were used in October, will be used in the ceremonies cere-monies next Thursday which are scheduled to start at 7 p. m. It is expected the entire drawing can be completed in about two hours. As the numbers" are drawn from the capsules, they will be read aloud and entered on a master list. As soon as possible after the drawing is completed copies of this list will be furnished to the country's 6500 selective service boards for their guidance in integrating the latest group of registrants among the men already on their rolls. f .. -vrtf j I . - Ml J The Honorable Joseph Q.
