Show v TRANSIENT ARRESTED ON LIQUOR CHARGE Marvin Jones, transient, who gave his home address as Los Angeles, was arraigned before Justice of the Peace Alex H. Rollo Tuesday to answer to charges of furnishing liquor to the Indians who are charges char-ges of the federal government. Vanas was arrested Monday by Myron Bybee, local liquor Inspector, and admitted, It is reported, that he purchased a bottle of wine at the request of Carl Jake, Cedar City Indian, but maintained he did not know he was breaking any law In so doing. The defendant was placed under bonds of $1,000 for his appearance on Tuesday, July 15 for a preliminary pre-liminary hearing. However, it is expected that a federal officer may arrive in Cedar City this week end in which event Vanas will be turned over to him to be taken to Salt Lake City where he will appear before be-fore the federal court. |
