Show Cost of Supplies Necessitates Raise in Beauty Service Prices Because of the rapid rise in prices of supplies used in beauty work, local owners and operators of beauty shops met Wednesday morning to work out a price scale that would be most fair to their patrons as well as themselves. So many of the materials, such as tinfoil and aluminum, vital to National Defense, are used in beauty beau-ty supplies, the rise in prices of these commodities has been almost unbelievable. un-believable. The only way beauty shops can still maintain their present pre-sent service charges would be to use Inferior materials and cut down on service, and this, the under-sined under-sined shops, are determined not to do. In April, 1940 the Mary Palmer Shop, The Moderne Beauty Salon, Leone's Beauty Salon, and the Taylor Beauty Shop Joined the State Beauticians and Hairdresses organization organ-ization whose ultimate goal is to have uniform hours, uniform prices, to use nothing but highest grale supplies on their patrons, and to guarantee all work.- This guarantee to patrons ls worth more than money, and places the shops on the highest basis of efficiency. To meet the price raise, the above mentioned shops, whose advertisement advertise-ment appears elsewhere in this Issue, Is-sue, have decided to raise only the prices of permanent waves, at present, pre-sent, as more supplies are used in this service than In any others. And these operators and owners pledge themselves to raise prices only when the very highest service to their patrons necessitates such a move. The new price range will go into effect July 15th.
