Show MONUMENT TO M'GAHAN. -i H Last' week Professor Vatralsky, a native Bulgarian and a graduate of Harvard college, visited President Mc- H Kinley for the purpose of enlisting his active sympathy in a movement to erect a suitable monument to the he- roic Januarius Aloysius McGahan, the , noted war correspondent, known throughout the world as the liberator of Bulgaria. Professor Vatralsky recently visited . New Lexington, ' O., where McGahan . was born, and where he is buried. He T was surprised to find the grave of the idol of the Bulgarian people in a state of utter neglect, not even a slab to mark his resting place, and he immediately imme-diately determined to inaugurate a movement for the purpose of securing the funds necessary to mark the grave of the Bulgarian liberator with a befitting be-fitting monument. Mr. McGahan's only son, Paul, is attending at-tending St. John's college, Fordham, and his widow is engaged in literary work in New York City. |
