They anticipate a pleasant summer in the temporary home they have chosen. In last week's Denver news appeared a notice which read: "Rev. Fr. Francis. Fran-cis. Q. Fv M.. died at the new, parochial residence, 1738 Lngan avenue, last Mon-dav." Mon-dav." This was a typographical error; it should have beer.: "Rev. Fr. Francis, Fran-cis, O. F. M.. d-i-n-e-d at the new parochial residence, 1738 Logan avenue, last Monday." Miss Cora Shevniro is visiting her friend, Miss Denver, in St. Louis. Francis Kelly, who has been a student stu-dent at Gethsemani college in Kentuck for the past two years, returned home j last Saturday evening. The young man received first honors in the graduating class and was the winner of two gold medals. Miss Marguerita Hanna and Mr. Joseph Jo-seph Horan we.-e married last Tuesday evening at the residence of the bride, 3234 Olive street. The ceremony was performed bv Rev. Peter McLean, a classmate of Father Carrigan. -. Mary Phylis Campion, the infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John F. I Campion, was baptized at the Logan Avenue chapel last Sunday. Mr. Dennis Sheedy has gone east for a short trip. St. Vincent's orphan asylum will be held Saturday, July 28, at Elitch's gardens. The meeting at the Logan avenue school last Sunday afternoon selected the following officers of the general committee in charge of the affair: Chairman, John Corcoran; treasurer, J. J. Hagus; secretary, J. S. McGinnis. It is expected that the picnic pic-nic will be the usual big success. The new addition to St. Joseph's hospital hos-pital will be dedicated in a very solemn sol-emn manner tomorrow afternoon, June 24. An alumni association was formed Sunday afternoon by the young men who have eraduated from the College of the Sacred Heart. The following were elected as the first officers of the association: President. James Stanley Stan-ley McGinnis; first vice-president, John W. Bucher; second vice-president, Thomas F. Murphy; secretary-treasurer, J. Henry Xichols; executive committee, com-mittee, the officers above named and Philip F.' A. Ryan, Professor Elbridge S. Hyde and Henry C. Vidal. The first reunion and banquet took 'place Friday, June 22, at the college. Senator Adams, who underwent an oneration for appendicitis at St. Joseph's Jo-seph's hospital Saturday morning, is reported by Dr. Clayton Farkhill to be well out of danger. "Hermigild, or the Two Crowns," plaved by the Sacred Heart College Dramatic society at the Broadway theater the-ater last Wednesday evening, was a great success in every particular. Commencement exercises at the Sacred Sa-cred Heart college took place on last Thursday afternoon, - We will publish, an account in next week's issue: The Hibernian Knights held a picnic at Arlington grove Sunday, and a more pleasant affair would be hard to imag ine. It was like a great family party, and the only lively feature was the rivalry displayed in the contests for the various prizes. There was not the slightest feeling of emnity, but every man went in to win, and when he lest he was satisfied that he had done his best. There were over 600 people present pres-ent and they were all greatly pleased with every feature of the aifair. The closing exercises at Sacred Heart school last Tuesday evening were A'ery interesting and the work of the pupils showed most careful training. |
