Show Annual Dairy Day Will Be Held at College The seventh annual dairy day at the college will be held September Sep-tember 7, George B. Caine, head of the dairy department announced announc-ed Thursday. Program plans have been completed and the committee commit-tee in charge is anticipating a large attendance at the annual affair. Activities for the day will begin with an assembly at 10 a. m. with ;Dr. R. H. Walker, director of the agricultural experiment station, acting as chairman of a meeting : where the dairy experimental farm will be dscussed. Lyman H. Rich, extension dairyman, will give an : address on "The Herd Improve-!ment Improve-!ment Work and Organization of jBull Associations in Utah." George Q. Bateman, superintendent of the ! dairy experiment farm, . will speak on "Four Planes of Feeding Dairy Cows;" F. P. Champ, president of the college board of trustees, will give a brief address on "In What Way Can the Dairy Experimental Program Best Serve the Dairy Industry", In-dustry", and R. R. Graves, chief, division feeding,, breeding and management, for the bureau , of dairy industry at Washington, ' D. C. will conclude the morning session ses-sion on the topic "Feeding Dairy Cattle in the West". The afternoon session will agani feature Mr. Greaves who will' speak on "Fundamental Principles of Breeding a Class of Dairy Cattle Cat-tle that will be pure in their Inheritance In-heritance for High Milk and But-terfat But-terfat Production". Mr. Bateman will give a summary of pasture fertilization studies, pasture management man-agement 'and inspection of new pasture pantings. ! |
