Show Verna Owens PANGUITCH, Utah - Verna Arlee Holman Owens, 68, of Panguitch, Utah; passed away June 16, 2001, in St. George, Utah. She was born March 20, 1933, in Delta, Utah, to Vernon LeRoy and Arvilla Marie Booth Holman. She married Richard Bruce Owens, May 17, 1951, in the St. George LDS Temple. He preceded her in death April 20, 1999. She was an active member of the LDS Church and served in many callings. She worked as a nurses aid for may years. Verna was very loving and compassionate with both the young and old. She worked as a home health nurse in St. George where she spent untold hours administering care to the elderly. She was a very talented artist and painted portraits, wildlife and landscape scenes. Verna loved quilting, growing plants and had a large collection of stuffed animals. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all those who knew her. She is survived by her children, Julie (Joe) McMullin, Washington; Jill (Bob) McCullough; Jann (Jim) Holt; Jean (Denny) Orton, all of Panguitch; and Mark (Natalie) Owens and Micah (Angie) Owens, all of St. George; 27 grandchildren; ' six great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters. She was preceded in death by husband Bruce; son Mitchell Kem Owens and grandson, Joseph McMullin Jr. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 23, 2001 at 1 p.m. in the Panguitch 2nd LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the Ward Chapel on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. and again on Saturday from 1 1 a.m to 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Panguitch Cemetery. Funeral directors, Neal S.
