We were lucky though in the fact that we did not suffer big wind damage like the people who live in the northern part of the state, j Art and Ernie Snyder are here 1 from Arizona. Dwight and Jaleen j Vance are here from Texas (I guess j that's where they came from last), i Anyway it's good to see lights in t that neighborhood again, at night. One of our former residents will be turning 100 years old this month. Elsie Barker Fitts will be honored at an open house at the Columbus Co-lumbus Center (2531 So. 400 East) in South Salt Lake on Sunday, June 24 from 4 to 6 p.m. If any of you happen to be in the area I'm sure she would appreciate it if you dropped in. Grena Searle, St. George, has been here all week with her mom, Twila Mclnelly. They have been as busy as a couple of little bees. Grena brought her picture albums along to work on and of course Twila always has a quilt on. So there has probably been a lot of workin' and a lot of talkin' goin' on! Theron and Dixie Mitchell went to Ely, Nev., to watch their two grandsons, sons of Kevin and Tracy Robison, play their last baseball games of the season. Jim Spencer and Jolyn Peterson were married on June 14, in the Mount Timpanogas LDS Temple. Mary, Eldon and Angie Griffin went up for the occasion, as did Ruby Griffin, Elaine and Emily Lott, and Vergean and Carolyn Porter. Por-ter. Renon Peterson also flew up from Las Vegas, Nev., to attend. We wish Jim and Jolyn much happiness. hap-piness. - Friends and family of Sena Barnson attended the Mount Timpanogas Tim-panogas LDS Temple with Joe and Sena Barnson Spencer. Congratulations Congratula-tions to them. Joe and Sena live over in Johns Valley now. Irene Tait, South Jordan, has been here visiting her mom Betty Alvey. Betty has sold her old (Wallace Roundy) family home and Irene has been helping her clean it out so she can turn it over to the new owners. Betty has her first great grandchild, born to Chad and J Jen Stokes, Riverton. The baby is -.- , a girl, her name is McKenzie. She I is also the first grandchild of Jay and Linda Stokes. ' Now that she is here, Linda has gone to Europe on a three-week tour. Dustin Shakespear is home from his LDS mission to Nashville, Nash-ville, Tenn. His brother, Derrik is getting ready to leave next month for a mission to Virginia. Haynes and Iola Woolsey were happy to hear that they have a new great-grandson. Little Grant Douglas Doug-las weighed in at 9 pounds 10-12 ounces and is the son of Douglas j and Debbie Woolsey, Coos Bay, i Ore. The Woolseys have two little I girls who were ecstatic to have a i little brother. He is also the only 1 boy in Debbie's family. Douglas j is the son of Merlo Kay and Kathy . Woolsey, Fruita, Colo., and Jane 3 Woolsey (as you knew her. She i has since remarried.) who now lives 1 in the state of Washington, j Ron and Maria Griffin and son i are here from California again en-j en-j joying their home in Allen's Can-: Can-: yon. Clea Woolsey has her daughter, j LuWana Wood, and her daughter, ( Tresa Monson, here from Lehi. j They have been busy helping Clea move into her new house. Brenda 3 Drown, another daughter of Clea's, I who lives here, has been helping 3 also. Really looks nice from the outside. As cold as it has been, she will want to hurry and have a j house warming! - . Lois Griffin Reeves is here from Orem visiting her husband Evan. I say that because she doesn't spend 3 as much time here as Evan does! 3 It's always good to see her out as we pass by though. Evan has done a lot of work on their place again "; this summer. Bet Lois was surprised! sur-prised! : Thais Griffin is in Las Vegas, Nev., with her daughter and son-in- law, Melanie and Jay Johnston, who are the parents of a new 8 pound baby girl. Thais is helping ! take care of her little namesake and her mom for a few days. The baby's name is Alexie Thais. Pat Coughlin was able to break ! away for a few days to go fishing, in Alaska, with his son Darren. Way to go, Pat. You can't catch ; fish like that in our irrigation sys- tern. (For those of you who don't ! know... Pat is our water boss!) |
