I Tony Dinges at Tony's Outpost in Hatch displayed this attractive green granite coffee table, handcrafted by Richard Dix, son of Pat and Ileta Dix of Panguitch. The table will be auctioned off on Saturday, June 23, at the Hatch TownCherokee Springs Annual Fire Fighter Fund Raiser. Proceeds from the golf, dinner and auction auc-tion event will be divided between the respective fire districts. Saturday's Golf Scramble To Raise Funds For Hatch Fire Department HATCH Three competitive golf teams with four members each have already signed to participate in Saturday's (June 23) Cherokee Springs Golf Scramble for a fund raiser for Hatch Town Volunteer Fire Fighters and Cherokee Springs Special Service District. The two entities have combined their efforts at raising money to enhance en-hance their present fire fighting capabilities ca-pabilities and encourage and invite residents to make a family outing of the event. Cherokee Springs Golf and RV Resort will" host the event and has donated generously to the prizes and auction that same evening. The Resort is located just six miles south of Hatch off US89 toward Bryce Woodlands Estates. The Second Annual event will feature a nine-hole golf shoot-out, with each golf participant paying $20 each for nine holes, prizes and a golf cart. A Dutch oven dinner, paid for by donation, and a lively auction will follow. Tee off time will be a 4 p.m., scheduled to wind up about 6 p.m. At that time the BBQ pit beef should be just perfect with Dutch oven potatoes, salads, rolls, watermelon and cobbler. Items for the auction include a wide array of goods and services including in-cluding a handcrafted green granite coffee table; a Bryce ride for two by Helivision helicopter rides out of Ruby's Inn; horse rides for two (See FUNDRAISER on page 2-A) FUNDRAISER From Front Page from Scenic Rim Trail Rides at: Ruby's; a 4-5 hour horse ride for two in Red Canyon from Thunder' " Mountain Trail Rides at Ruby's Inn; two free rodeo tickets at " Ruby's; sandwiches and yogurt from Hogi Yogi in Panguitch and a $50 cash prize for any hole-in-one. Also to be auctioned off is a one year subscription to the Garfield County News; an RCA satellite dish from Mike and Shelly Wallick; a gift basket from Mugwumps; sand paintings and kokopelli from Bryce Mountain Trading Post in Hatch; vintage signed prints from (See FUNDRAISER on page 7-A) FUNDRAISER From Page 2-A the Flying M Restaurant in Panguitch Pan-guitch and a gift certificate from Panguitch Anglers off U.S. 89 just south of the junction of U.S. 89 and Hwy. 12. Many other auction items were still being collected at press time. The golf competition is open to the public and all fire fighters, EMTs, sheriffs, deputies, Utah Highway Patrol and other safety personnel are encouraged to team up and support this excellent event. There will be a shotgun start at 4 p.m. and each team of four will play its best ball hit. Players must use two drives from each player. A grand prize trophy will be awarded along with the winning lowest score. That team with the lowest score will receive two season sea-son passes to Cherokee Springs (value $500).
