Show Hatch Happenings Mayall Sawyer 735-4207 Mr. and Mrs. Alan Humphries and Emma Rae Humphries of Hurricane visited Mr. and Mrs. LaVal Sawyer over the weekend and helped Carla celebrate her birthday. LaVal and Carla also celebrated their wedding anniversary the same day. Verla Sawyer, Anchorage, Alaska, visited with her grandmother Verda Sawyer for a few days. Then Verla and Verda went to Kanab for a week to visit Vay Sawyer, the Brent Mackelprangs of Fredonia, Ariz., and the Joe La Cartis of Kanab. They brought Vanita Sawyer of Anchorage, Alaska, back to Hatch where she is visiting the Karl Lowders for a week. Visiting Julia Turek during the week were Mr. and Mrs. Wynn Turek, Tiffani Turek, Misti Turek and Kandice Turek of Washington and Kristin Bronson and Zachary Bronson of Cheyenne, Wyo. Stake relief society visitors on Sunday were Ann Dalton and Mary Sudweeks of Circle ville and Leola Hcnrie and Janice Hatch of Panguitch. The LDS sacrament meeting program was presented by the Dave Savage family with a song by Jackie Savage, "Scripture Power" She was accompanied by Mike Savage. There was a talk by Lynctte Savage and a song "We'll Bring the World His Truth" by Ben Savage, accompanied by Mike Savage. Judy Savage also gave a talk. Mike Savage gave his testimony and sang "How Great Thou Art", accompanied by Norcen Evans. David Savage was the concluding speaker. LaVor Dcvel of Anaheim, Calif., has spent the past week visiting his mother Idonna Dcvel. Idonna is in the Garfield Memorial Hospital recovering from major surgery. Visiting Lilith Wilson is the Scott Poulson family of Riverton. Mr. and Mrs. Karl Lowder returned home after spending seven weeks in Gold Hills, Ore., with the Jess Lowder family and i n Anchorage, Alaska, with Velta Sawyer and Mary Beth Bailey. Karleta Riggs, Rebecca Riggs, Angela Riggs and William Riggs, Panguitch, came Sunday and visited the Lowders. Mr. and Mrs. LaMar Barney went to Lake Powell where they visited Janell Duckett, Bill Duckett and Lewis Barney. LaMar and Dorothy also spent a day in Sl George last week. On Saturday Mr. and Mrs. Robert Evans went to Cedar City on business. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Avery and family of California are here at their trailer home. LaVern Olsen, Blackfoot, Ida., and Elaine Simons, McCammon, Ida., are here staying with their mother Abbie Fallis. Mr. and Mrs. Stan Huntington of Cedar City were here visiting the Wiley Huntingtons during the weekend. Effel Riggs enjoyed short visits during the week from friends Evelyn Asay, Centerville; Verna Hinton, Hurricane; and Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Harrison, Palo Alto, Calif. Mr. Harrison is the son of BH Harrison who taught school here 1936-37 and worked at the Mammoth Lumber Co. as a bookkeeper. He would like to have memories regarding his father's time here, as he is writing BH Harrison's history. Anyone with anything to contribute can contact Effel Riggs in Hatch. Effel Riggs received word of a new great-grandson born to the Dennis and Ronda Webbs of Cashmere, Wash. Visiting May Sawyer during the week were Valeene Roberts, Antimony; Kurt Sawyer and Mr. and Mrs. Kent Sawyer, Cedar City; and the Kerry Sawyer family of Panguitch. The Lynn Savage family of St George visited the Nile Sawyers. May Sawyer and Eric Sawyer went to Cedar City and visited the Kent Sawyer's and the Kurt Sawyers. |
