Show Home Health Care Covers Wide Area Home Health Care is an important impor-tant element of Garfield Memorial Hospital's services, and one that will become increasingly valuable as the population ages, according to Trish Whittaker, director of Home. Health at Garfield Memorial. "The main goal of Home Health is to provide necessary treatment in the home, allowing the patient to receive dependable, professional care, without repeated trips to the hospital," Whittaker said. The program can also help to relieve re-lieve some of the anxiety and pressure pres-sure felt by those who care for family fam-ily members or relatives, she said. Home Health visits are made by registered nurses and certified home health aides and the patient's entire program is supervised by his or her physician. During a typical visit, the Home Health staff will take vital signs, check blood sugar level, take a blood sample, bathe the patient, review re-view and discuss medication, and talk about any problems the patient might have.
