Show By Mamie Talbot Walkers, joggers and runners and anyone else brave enough to be out have been doing their thing the past week between blustery snow and March winds. Even little bits of snow are welcome. Graveside services were held here Saturday for Panguitch native Nita Lee Henderson, Cedar City. Nita taught school here for many years and was the wife of the late Reed Henderson who many folks will remember worked for the State Fish and Game Department in Hatch. Patty Heaton has moved to the Salt Lake City Area. She is missed by her friends here who wish her the best. Barbara Yardley was called to be an officer in the Panguitch Third LDS Ward Primary. Terry Andrews has purchased the former Pearl LeFevre home and is beginning to work on it by removing remov-ing large clumps of lilac brush. A beautiful Third Ward Relief Society birthday program and dinner was attended by most women in town. The Stake Center cultural Hall was full. The program was based on the statues in the Relief Society Monument-to-Women Gardens. Gar-dens. Well executed living statues were depicted by various townspeople. townspeo-ple. Narrators and singers helped make it a truly impressive presentation presenta-tion and the food was great. Ray and Dora Newman had created lovely little ceramic statue favors for each woman attending. Tom and Romona Proctor have returned home for her to recover from surgery up north. Mary Susan Foy is spending some time with her mother Elizabeth Eliza-beth Foy during a year-round school break. Several local quilters helped Caroline Janicke complete a quilt at the Catholic Church. It will be used to help raise funds for the Catholic ladies project expenses. Panguitchite Art Houston, Roy, is recovering at home from a heart attack. He is married to the former Barbara Miller. The Third Ward held their Ward Conference on Sunday. Attending were the Panguitch Stake presidency, presi-dency, high council members and their wives. Edna Doty and Hope Goulding have been under-the-weather for some time and are undergoing medical med-ical treatment locally. Avonell Tebbs and her mother Sara Worlhen went to St, George to visit Sara's sisters Zola Jolley and Wilma Beal. Since Sara is pretty much homebound, it was great for her to get out and around. Troy Josie reported his Missouri LDS mission in the First Ward. Stephanie Henrie and Stacee Yard-Icy Yard-Icy were the Youth speakers and Aaron Reynolds sang "I Am A Mormon Boy". Dr. Eric Asay's family is moving mov-ing from Panguitch. Florence Houston is home for a time while Paul and Flora Houston Keller, Price, are traveling and attending at-tending conventions. Nanette Matthew heard from husband Tony Matthew a few days after the Persian Gulf war ended. He is well but not sure when he will be home. |
