Show Comments On Implementation Of Land Exchange Rules Sought The USDA Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management (BLM) are soliciting public comment com-ment regarding proposed rules designed de-signed to streamline and expedite exchanges involving Federal and non-Federal lands and implement the Federal Land Exchange Facilitation Facili-tation Act of 1988. The principal provisions pertain to exchange agreements, assembled land exchanges, segregation, compensation com-pensation of costs assumed, appraisal ap-praisal standards, bargaining, arbitration, arbi-tration, approximately equal value exchanges, value equalization, cash equalization waiver, and simultaneous simulta-neous transfer of title. Because of the high degree of uniformity between the proposed rules of the two agencies, the public pub-lic may submit one set of comments com-ments to the BLM or the USDA Forest Service. Comments are due by Dec. 2 and should be sent to: Chief, USDA Forest Service, 14th & Independence Indepen-dence Ave, N.W., Washington D.C. 20090-6090; or Director, Bureau of Land Management, Room 5555, Main Interior Building, 1849 C Street, N.W., Washington D.C. 20240. The proposed rules appeared in the Oct 2, issue of the Federal Register. Reg-ister. Copies of the proposed rules are available at all U.S. Forest Service Ser-vice Regional Offices and BLM State Offices. |
