Show jf.a - c ......... : .. By Ella Adair - Mr. and Mrs. Larry Adair visited visi-ted with Ella Adair and celebrated his birthday with his mother. Canning season is on. We are happy for the bounteous crops that have been grown in our gardens, but will be happy when the bottles are all filled and the canning supplies sup-plies can be put away for another year. The "bear" that visited in town has made people afraid to go outside out-side at night for fear of coming face to face with it. The Garfield County Council on Aging held their meeting at the home of Ella Adair on Friday. A potluck dinner was enjoyed after the business was taken care of. Darwin and Wanda Shakespear made a trip to Salt Lake City for Wanda to have a medical check-up. Kerry and Donna Nelson visited with friends in Tropic. Carol Pollock attended the Governor's Conference on Families in Salt Lake City. Price and Darlene Allred made a trip to Salt Lake City for Price to have a medical check-up. Their son Jeff, from South America, spent three days with them before going to LDS Conference. Ivan Clarke visited with the Lester Clarkes. Ross Williams gave a special presentation on "Family Problems" Prob-lems" to the adult class in the Tropic LDS Ward Sunday School. Brian Phelps and Eddie Hess visited in Tropic on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Eric Syrett's new baby boy Shawn received his name and blessing by his father in LDS Sacrament meeting. Afton Pollock and Janet Shakespear Shake-spear both had surgery in Cedar City. Catherine Littlefield was a patient in the Garfield Memorial Hospital during the week. Mr. and Mrs. Malen Mecham and other members of the family attended funeral services in Salt Lake City for John Redford, father of Margaret Mecham. New Cub Scouts positions are as follows: Toni Foster was released re-leased as the Wcbelo leader and Julie Bybee will take her place; Eva Dean Francisco was released as the Wolf leader and Barbara LeFe-vre LeFe-vre will replace her. Keela Mangum is the new counselor in YWMIA. Donna Fagergren from Bryce Canyon is the new homemak-ing homemak-ing leader in LDS Relief Society. LouJean and Anita, daughters of the DeRell Sudweeks, came to get corn and fruit to take back to Nevada with them. Many out-of-town relatives were in Tropic on Thursday to attend at-tend the funeral services for Le-land Le-land "Pat" Pollock. Mr. and Mrs. Neal Littlefield, Little Rock, Ark. visited with their mother Violet Littlefield. Mr. and Mrs. Stan Ott were in Salt Lake City and Provo for medical medi-cal care. Margaret and Margie Mecham made a trip to Salt Lake City for Margaret to have a medical checkup check-up on her hip. Mitch Littlefield was installed as a member of the Bryce Valley Lions Club at their meeting on Sept. 26. Mr. and Mrs. Gail Miles, Mid-vale, Mid-vale, spent the weekend with their mother Ella Adair. While Gail was busy helping outside, Bonnie was busy filling her bottles with apples and pears. Nothing better than home-grown fruit. |
