New Correspondents For Escalante And Cannonville Recent Menlo Park, Calif, resident Harriet Priska, newly moved to Escalante, will begin writing the weekly Escalante News column starting with one of the late October editions of the News. Priska comes to the Garfield County News with a newspaper background and says she is looking forward to writing the column as a means of becoming more quickly acquainted with her new neighbors, the people of Escalante. Harriet and Philip Priska are antique dealers and collectors, with Philip specializing in model train collections and Harriet focusing on her extensive array of buttons. They also operate a mail order business in sewing buttons and spend time traveling to antique shows and model train exhibits. In addition, Harriet Priska skillfully puts her artistic talents to work in paintings on porce-lain. Excited about meeting everyone and writing about her new friends in Escalante, Harriet can be reached at 826-4810. News items for publication may also be dropped into the box provided at the Escalante Public Library. Nancy Bales Twitchell will be writing the weekly Cannonville News column for folks in that Bryce Valley community. Although not a Cannonville resident, Nancy says she knows so many people there and works with so many of them that she is anxious to see their news itcuis covered on a weekly basis. A former assistant editor at the Garfield County News for many years, Nancy can be reached with news items at 679-8504. Or, news items for the Cannonville news, in an envelope clearly marked "Cannonville News," may be dropped into the slot at the Garfield County News office at the Jim and Katie Thomas residence in Tropic. Nancy and her husband Leon are both employed at Bryce Canyon National Park. |
