Show January Trial For Judd Case Attorneys for Jerrold Judd and the Garfield School District in a telephone conference with Judge Don V. Tibbs this past week agreed on a trial setting in January 1992 for the long-standing case. Judd's attorney Hans Chamberlain Chamber-lain of the law firm of Chamberlain and Higbee in Cedar City will prepare pre-pare the order. Judd became a controversial figure fig-ure in education throughout the state when the local board of education educa-tion placed him on involuntary leave in May 1989 within six weeks of the expiration of his contract con-tract as superintendent of schools. When Judd sought an injunction.the court ordered his immediate reinstatement, rein-statement, saying the board had terminated the superintendent without with-out cause.. Judd's case for punitive damages has remained on hold while the district dis-trict appealed a court decision disqualifying dis-qualifying its attorneys. When that appeal was lost, the district hired Felshaw King, a Salt Lake City. |
