This is "your" weekly column to announce an-nounce or share any number of community events, visiting family and friends, travels to exotic locations, loca-tions, weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, anni-versaries, you name it. Your new columnist welcomes your calls or notes each week and asks only that you make your best efforts to get all news to her at 679-8504 by Friday Fri-day of each week for printing in the following week's edition of the paper. Welcome back Cannonville! Ada and George Thompson welcomed home daughter Ann Reece and two grandchildren Greg and Ginger from Las Vegas, Nev. They traveled here especially to assist as-sist their grandparents with the final fi-nal harvest of the family garden and will take their treasures back home to Las Vegas to share with other aunts and uncles. Gretha and Desmond Twitchell enjoyed gorgeous weather for the day as they traveled Friday to St. George for their weekly trek to the St. George LDS Temple. On Saturday, Satur-day, Gretha and sister Rhoda Shafer of Henrieville traveled to the Richfield Care Center to visit aunt and uncle Opal and Alfred Hatch, formerly residents of Panguitch. Melda Davis, Mae Twitchell, Gretha Ewer, Elva Sheppard and Kathrine Nelson traveled to Georgetown, Tex. where they attended at-tended funeral services for their brother, Lt. Colonel Melvin K. "Jim" Goulding. Arjean, Cherlyn and Mae Twitchell attended the Judds concert con-cert in Cedar City on Friday. It was a great treat with a one-hour lead in band called McBride and the Ride, followed by all those familiar and popular Judd tunes and a special good-bye to fans with the message that there's always "hope." Doyle and Gloria Clark were in Egar, Ariz, with Melanie Ott while Kowan spent a week in Phoenix, Ariz, going to school. Melda Davis has moved north to Springville to spend the winter with daughter Sherron Jensen. The Steve and Verjean Clark family journeyed to southern California Cali-fornia this week for a special Disneyland Dis-neyland vacation. Young David Mathews, son of Diane and Ben Mathews, celebrated his 6th birthday on Saturday with a pizza blast at Bart's Pizza Place in Tropic. There was "lots of fun and games," special party favors and of course the traditional birthday cake. Jeff Stock, on the occasion of his first wedding anniversary took Jan, his lovely bride of one year, for a special celebration to Mesquite, Ariz. They departed on Friday afternoon and said of course they never could have made the excursion ex-cursion without the help of mom Arma Stock, who kept a watchful eye on grandkids, pets, etc. |
