Show Heart-Related Unit Purchased By Group Garfield Memorial Health Care Foundation President Charles Duffy announced this week the receipt of a new, state-of-the-art piece of vital equipment purchased by the foundation for use at Garfield Memorial Hospital. The purchase of the Lifepak-8, used to stabilize erratic heart conditions condi-tions and maintain heart rhythms until a patient can be transferred to a facility that specialized in pacemaker pace-maker implants was made possible by funds obtained at the annual loundation fund-raiser dinner, along with a matching grant obtained from the state through the efforts of Bob McCullough, P. A., and Wayne Ross, hospital administrator. This year's dinner, set for Nov. 12 at the Panguitch LDS Stake Center, will have as its fund raising goal another piece of vital equipment equip-ment to upgrade still further the quality of care available through the hospital and its related clinic. The Lifcpak-8 is a defibrillator, monitor and external pacemaker and can be used in the emergency room and at a patient's bedside or during transfer to another facility and is designed for use in life-threatening situations. This year's dinner will be followed fol-lowed by an evening of dancing. The Lifepak-8 will be on display for benefactors of the foundation to view. Additional information is available by calling the hospital at 676-8811. |
