UHP HATCH An Arizona man was cited for failure to keep his vehicle j under control after apparently falling asleep at the wheel in the early morning hours of Sept. 29. Gregory Schneuder, 40, Phoenix, Ariz., was probably saved from potentially serious injury by Trooper Craig Twitchell is investigating the accident. The truck rolled three times. Driver Cited After Truck Rollover his seat belt according to the investigating officer. Schneudcr's pickup, traveling north on U.S. 89 near Hatch, went off the cast side of the highway, then slid sideways across the road to the west side, hit a ditch and rolled three times before coming to a stop. The truck was totaled in the 6 a.m. accident. The Hatch ambulance responded to the scene where Emergency Medical Technicians checked the lucky man but did not transport. Investigating Utah Highway Patrol officer Craig Twitchell noted that the accident was the second in as many days near the same location loca-tion where seat belts had saved lives. |
