Show Panguitch News Mamie Talbot The throat-clutching autumn beauty of the valley is at its best. Even the usually green Chinese Elms are turning a lovely bronze as the leaves begin to fall fast. A large crowd of people from the county attended the RSVP dinner din-ner and program honoring senior volunteers at the Senior Citizens Center. Long-time resident Hazel Sevy died at her home. The Kirk Moores and Vernon Rcid welcomed Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Gor-don Reid, Rosemary Christeanson, Iletta Green and Carol Ann Spencer for a short stay with them. Christine Proctor and her daughter Ashley Proctor spent time with great-grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Jay Proctor before returning to Ccnterville. Merle Stowell is having a large storage building built on her lot. On seeing the floor laid, she observed ob-served that it would make a fine big dance hall. Spending sometime with their parents the Gerald Veaters and the Clem McEwens were Mr. and Mrs. Clem F. McEwen. Melanie McEwen Oleson came from Dixie to visit the McEwens. Word was received of the birth of a nine-pound baby girl to Kathryn Parry wife of former local seminary teacher Rod Parry. They recently moved to St. George. Visiting with the Carvel Henries were former Panguitchites Mr. and Mrs. Reid Davis and Lois Tcbbs Kenney. Garald and Marlene Miller Lewis came from Henderson to ease Marine's Mar-ine's home sickness for the fall scenes of her home town. They helped mother Lyle Miller with preparations for the winter, then they all toured the hills, stopping at Mammoth Caves where, as a child, Lyle celebrated July 4th. A new roof has been put on the storage shed and the carport enclosed en-closed at the former Emma Houston house. A cement porch has been added to the former Denny Linford house. Folks are using the nice weather to batten down hatches and get ready for the coming winter. Hunter orange adds a bright flash to the local scene as elk and deer hunters get their outfits ready for the trek to the hills. The Wally Ortons made a trip to Ogdcn to help sons Allen Orton and Wade Orton gel set for college at Weber State. They then returned to get the enclosing and finishing work on their new home going. The Ned Owenses had Mclva's sister Tennys Houston here from Dixie. Former town residents here for the funeral of Nettie Dowdcll were Donna Smith, June VanHemert, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Tebbs, Mr. and Mrs. Karl McAllister, Marjorie Conder, Gloria Atwood and the former Haycock sisters, Marba Sandbcrg, Faye Miller and Evelyn Woodard. The Bobby Owenses spent time at the Charles Hep worths and Glen Owens. Lorene Hepworth went north for a medical appointment. All 29 members of the Lawrence Frandsen family met together for the first time in many years for the blessing of the Rodney Frandsen's son in Ephraim. May Henrie, Rea Dodds and John N. Henrie are on a tour of the Orient. Clem and Mary Ann Henrie Church came from the north and found that Mary's bathroom plumbing was leaking all over the place, so they stayed until repairs were complete. |
