Rhoana Workman has had a house full: her sisters Gale Syndergaard, West Valley City; Denise Anderson, Sunset; Laurella Syndergaard, Mt. Pleasant; her brother and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. John Tait, West Valley City; her son Max Johnson and his daughter Carla, McGill, Nevada, her daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Bryce Syndegaard, Ferron, and nieces and husbands, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Allred and Mr. and Mrs. belroy Syme, Spring City. They attended funeral services in Fredonia, Ariz, for Emery T. Payne, the son of Rhoana's sister, June Payne. Also attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Nielson and Rea Douds. j Visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Partridge have been her sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Lemmun and her sister Colleen Wade, St. George. Kenneth Sevy, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Sevy graduated from Southern Utah State College. He majored .in botany. Attending the graduation were Harold and Wynona, Jolene Smith, Arlene Davenport, Lorraine Henry and her daughter Caroline, Orem. Visiting at the LeGrande Farn-sworths were their son and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Phil Farnsworth, their daughter Karin and her fiance Brad Logan, all of Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Lee attended the graduation of their son David Lee from SUSC. He majored in Zoology and will go on to dental school in the fall. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Brian McAllister have been his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed McAllister, St. George. Brian and Deanna will move to St. George for the summer, spend a month with her parents in Mexico. Brian will be the assistant coach at Murray Junior High next school year. Attending funeral services in St. George for former resident Donald Spurlin who died May 23 were Mr. and Mrs. John Yardley, Mr. and Mrs. Clem McEwen, Lola C. Henrie and Debbie Frandsen. John Yardley delivered the eulogy and dedicated the grave, Lola Henrie and Pam Yardley gave prayers and Irene McEwen played the music. Burial was in St. George. Mr. and Mrs. Royce Pollock and three sons attended the St. George Temple and were sealed. Attending the temple with them were Debbie's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Stoddard and her brother and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Stoddard of Grace, Ida.; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Jolley; and Mr. and Mrs. Gary Owens. Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Tebbs and Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Tebbs of Bloomington and Mr. and Mrs. .Bryce Kenney of Orem visited Mr. and Mrs. Carvel Henrie. Carvel Ij Improving nicely. Florence Sellers, Hope Goulding, Merle Stowell, Jean LeFevre, Mamie Talbot and Mary Ross attended the temple in St. George. Mrs. Mario (Sally) Mancini, Las Vegas, a former resident is enjoying an extended stay at the home of her friend Dolly Henrie. Edna Clark is home for the summer; she spent the winter at Riviera, Ariz. Mr. and Mrs. Mike Conn ell have moved to Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Cameron have gone to Mesa, Ariz, to attend the high school graduation of their grandson Troy Owens, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gene Owens. Their grandson Shawn Owens who has been living with them and attending school here returned home. Mr. and Mrs. Mike Staheli have moved to Salt Lake City where Mike has new employment. Mike has been the bookkeeper at the Garfield Memorial Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Tracy Henrie, Cedar City visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Steele. Henrie, enjoying camping and fishing. Also visiting have been the Richfield Crofts,' Annabella. , Brett Pierson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Doug Evans was ordained to the office of a Deacon in the LDS Priesthood by his father. Lena Daly is here living in the home of her daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Art Tebbs. She spends the winters in Logandale, Nev., but says she is so glad to be home. Several people attended graduation exercises at Cedar City High School Thursday night. Hope Goulding for granddaughter Stephanie Dutton, daughter of Jay Dutton and the late Mary Ann Dutton and her grandson Michael Goulding, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Goulding. Mary Henrie, Ina Hanks, Alta Yardley, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Hatch attended for Ira David Hatch, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Hatch. Ruth Henrie and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Englestead, for Brady Englestead, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Engelstead and for Jimmy Ipson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Ipson. Mr. and Mrs. Nello Ipson also attended for their grandson Jimmmy and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Tebbs for their granddaughter Kathryn Tebbs. Visiting the Frank Dalys have been a niece, Rosemary Daly Swenson, Bountiful; Mr. and Mrs. Ned Dodds, Bountiful; and Rhoana Lee and Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Lee, Magna. Blanche Pendleton and Christine Henrie attended the graduation of their grandson and brother Robert Tebbs at SUSC Saturday. Robert graduated in chemistry as a high honor student. He is the son of JoAnn Losser, Salt Lake City and the late Sterling Tebbs. Jim Davis, Orem underwent surgery for a brain tumor. He is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Dub Davis and married to the former Artis Roe. He is at Utah Valley Hospital in Provo. Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Parry were in Cedar City, where Rodney graduated with a masters degree in secondary education from SUSC Saturday. Rodney teaches LDS seminary here. Kelvin Yazzie, a former resident, graduated from SUSC in art. He is married to the former Leslie Riggs, Hatch and they have one daughter. Lana Houston, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Grant Houston received an associate degree in the secretarial field at SUSC. Visiting June Owens and helpiung her celebrate her 70th birthday with a family dinner at the Senior Citizen's Center were her children, Shirley Barton, Midvale; Karen Henrie, Sandy; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Dettamanti, Cedar City; Mr. and Mrs. Brent Owens, Kanab; and Mr. adn Mrs. Devon Owens, Panguitch. There were 15 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren plus other family members, 46 in all. Norma Pringle, a sister-in-law of Shirley Barton, visitied June and attended her party. Mr. and Mrs. Wren Barton, St. George and Mr. and Mrs. Adrian Cuff, Kearns were visiting at the Owens home and with Lyle Miller. Mr. and Mrs. Duff Mitchell, Orem visited her parents, the Frank Henries. Their daughter Nichole wiU stay with her grandparents for awhile. Norma Crompton visited in Cedar City with her daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Shirley. She attended the graduation of her grandson Brent Shirley from Cedar High School and stayed to help her granddaughter Dialeas celebate her birthday. Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Judd, Lander, Wyo. are spending a week with her mother, Mary Lee. Also visiting Mary has been Mrs. Dick Lee and daughters Marsha and Audrey Emett, Bloomington. They were on their way home from Escalante where they had spent a week with Donnetta's father, Wanless Alvey. Visiting Merle Stowell have been Mr. and Mrs. Lou (Ana Judd) Garrett of Salt Lake City. Lou and Ana took Merle and Erna Riggs and her granddaughter Suzi out to Ruby's Inn. Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Owens' baby boy was blessed and named Colton Maloy Owens by his father in the " Third Ward sacrament meeting. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Maloy Dodds have been their daughter Rebecca Dodds, Orem and Mr. and Mrs. David Dodds, Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Ken Ginn have moved to California. Ken was employed here with the Forest Service. Mr. and Mrs. Matt Savage, the former managers of the Bryce Way Restaurant have moved to Boulder City, Nev. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Tebbs and family have moved to New York City for the summer where Richard will attend school for special educational studies in math and computer science which he teaches at SUSC in Cedar City. Richard is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Tebbs and is married to the former Irene Henrie, daughter of Ruth Henrie and the late Orald Henrie. Dr. Terry Henrie and his son Nathan were in Salt Lake City to be with Ercil Henrie who had open heart surgery at the LDS Hospital. Dr. Henrie and his wife Leola visited. ... Ercil in Salt Lake City where he is . improving nicely. Many, many people attended the open house at Ruby's Inn Saturday. Visiting Hope Goulding and attending Panguitch High School graduation exercises were Aurelia Orton, Garna Dee Webb and Ronnie Adair. Their nephews and cousins Rip Goulding and Kevin Hepworth graduated. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Simkins, Circleville visited the Tom Simkins and attended the high school gr-dauation of their grandson Scott Simkins. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Tom Reynolds and attending the graduation of Stuart Reynolds from Panguitch High School were their daughter Marina Reynolds of Phoenix, Ariz.; Ann's mother Irene Wilson, Hawaii; and Gale Reynolds, Cannonville. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Bill DeLong have been Mary Dirks; Mr. and Mrs. Steve Dicks, Ogden and Mary Bruhn, Bountiful. Attending graduation exercises at Panguitch High School for their father and grandfather Pat Dix were Richard Dix and Angela Dix, Parowan; the Tom Woods, Price; the Kelley Dixes, the Casey Dixes and Darol Allred, St. George and May Sawyer and Velma Huntington, Hatch. Heta Dix, April Dix and Kristy Barabas visited in Parowan with the Richard Dixes. Pat Dix went to Salt Lake City on business. |
