Show Personal Rights Outlined Students in Special Film ESCALANTE Students at Escalante Elementary School learned how to protect their personal rights in a special film, "You Are in Charge," represented by the Boulder-Escalante PTA. The film, provided by Max Stewart, Family Life Services, was adapted from a Channel Two "PM Magazine" special report on child abuse and molestation. The children were taught how to deal with strangers who stop to speak to them and how to correctly and safely answer the telephone when they are alone. It also stressed the "buddy system", closing blinds and locking doors. Helping to present the film and fielding numerous practical questions from the youngsters were PTA representatives Naomi Bolton, Marlene Stowe, Dorothy Simpson and Lucille Cowles. The film is available for use by other groups from Stewart at Family Life Services in Panguitch said Mrs. Bolton. |
