Show IPP, Wane" Water Group Sign Storage Agreement The Intermountain Consumer Power Association (ICPA) of Utah executed an agreement this week with the Wayne County Water Conservancy District for cooperative development of a multi-use water storage project. The project in south central Utah will use water from the Fremont River to benefit residents of the area, Joseph C. Fackrell, executive director of ICPA said. Fackrell said the agreement with the conservancy district could result in the construction of a dam and reservoir to store about 50,000 acre feet of water. The reservoir would be located either on the Fremont River, about three miles south of Caineville, or off stream about two miles north west of Caineville. ICPA has been authorized to obtain and hold water rights for the Intermountain Power Project, Fackrell said. ICPA is one of seven participants in the Power Project In consideration for financing and constructing the water storage project, ICPA will receive the first 25,000 acre feet of water for use in a proposed 3000 miliwatt generating station to be located approximately 10 miles north of Caineville. |
