Show Panguitch FFA Chapter Noting National 'Week' Members of the Panguitch chapter joined with over 450,000 other FFA members in the United States in celebrating National FFA Week which started February 15. Throughout the week the state's 51 chapters are planning activities to support the theme, "FFA a chance for growth." According to President Steven Crosby, Panguitch, "the Panguitch chapter will have public speaking contests, put up displays and put on an assembly for the Panguitch High School." National FFA Week always includes George Washington's birthday in observance of his leadership in promoting scientific farming procedures. Washington is considered the patron saint of the FFA and has come to symbolize the FFA treasurer. Oganized in 1928, the FFA promotes leadership, cooperation and citizenship among high school vocational agricult jre students. The FFA Foundation awards program provides chapter, state and national recognition for supervised programs of agricultural production, marketing, processing and service. |
