He was born April 24, 1888, Panguitch, to Elias and Eliza Hancock Hatch. He married Irene Syrett, Jan. 3, 1910, Panguitch; solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. She died June 2, 1971. He had served as Panguitch City marshal in 1920; Garfield County sheriff, 1921-27; store manager and clerk; salesman for Occidental Life Insurance Co. for 25 years. Survivors: sons, daughters, Mrs. Dave (Ola) Dodds, Chi no, Calif.; Mrs. I. Bruce (Nina) McQuarrie, Ogden; Mrs. Howell Lee (Clara) Cannon, Salt Lake Citry; Verl, Lakewood, Calif.; Maurice, Las Vegas; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Millard. Panguitch. Funeral services were Saturday in the Panguitch North Ward chapel with Elder Clark Frandscn, conducting. Donald II Steele offered the family prayer and Iletta D. Reid and Hope J. Truman played prelude music. Lloyd Dodds offered the invocation. Speakers were Mcmie T. Hatch, A.L. Elmer, Ingra Richards, Bishop Carl Hatch and Elder Frandsen. Music included a song by the choir, piano and organ duet, Irene McEwen and Elizabeth Foy; violin trio, Barbara Orton, Barbara Heaton, Hank Hassel and son, ladies chorus. Michael Hatch offered the benediction. Burial was in the Panguitch City Cemetery by Ncal S. Magleby and Sons Mortuary, Richfield, where Bishop DcLoy Dodds offered the dedicatory prayer. Pallbearers were DeLoy Dodds, Bill Hatch, Lloyd Dodds, John Fishbein, Donald Steele, Ken Ellis, Michael Hatch, Ken Reed, Dean Hatch, Mike Gouker, and David Hatch.
