A number of the grandchildren were there. Others to come were his brother Titus Coombs and wife of Thatcher, Ida., his two sisters Mrs. Emily Cobert of Logan and Mrs. Harriet Davis of Spanish Fork. His sister-in-law, Mrs. May Coombs of Teasdale and family, Mr. and Mrs. Caryte Baker, Mrs. Lorea Hall and daughter Kathleen Hamm, Mrs. Barbara Pace, and Mr. and Mrs. Guy Coombs. Of the Brinkerhoff family Mr. and Mrs. Preston (Erma) Moosman and her sister. Friends, Mrs. Thirza Proctor, Panguitch Mrs. Clella Lit-tlefield, Mrs. Dixie Shakespear of Tropic. Many from Boulder and Escalante. Max Bouls of Nephi in connection with Select Sire Cash Valley Breeder taught classes for one week at the town hall to stockmen on artificial insemination. In groups and one by one, the BYU survival students made it into Boulder. Before the bus came after them, they spent one day varnishing the woodwork inside the church house and helped beautify the church grounds. Mrs. Veda Behunin unable to recover from the flue spent two days at the Panguitch Hospital under Dr. Duggins care. Mrs. Betty Stevens and children were in Panguitch for dental care. Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Peterson took Amanda to Cedar City for dental care. Mr. and Mrs. Otto Haws have been in Richfield on business. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Davis and Tracy Ann stayed with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Max Jones at Provo while Larry went to a ranger school in Salt Lake City. April showers turned into snow which fell almost steadily for two days. The sky is still overcast. Soon wild flowers will be in bloom on the desert and canvon lands. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Johnson and their two small children have obtained special permit to spend one year on state land in the Indian Gulch while doing research on survival in the wilderness. Their headquarters will be in a cave. Much of their time will be spent upon public lands south east of Boulder while making their report. |
