Wrestler best in nation Spanish Fork rec. notes Competing in the 120 pound class of the Rookie Division in the Rocky Mountain Nationals Wrestling Championship, Conner Sorensen of Salem joined over 2200 wrestlers from around the country in Denver on March 19-21, 2010. Also participating in the meet were his Spanish and Diamond Fork Jr. High teammates, Branson Ashworth and Zack Harris (placing 6th at 109). Conner participated in his regular weight class as well as in the 10-12" age group's 16-man bracket for first-time participants. In his first "rookie" match, Conner was awarded a forfeit when his opponent did not show. In the Round of 8, Conner decisioned Joseph Stevenson of Fountain (CO) by a score of 7-2; in the final wrestlebacks, Stevenson finished in 2nd place. Next, in the championship semifinals, Conner pinned the eventual 4th-place finisher, Walker Nipko of Utah's Warrior Freestyle Club. Kindergarten boys and girls will play T-Ball. 2nd grade boys play MachinePitch and 2nd grade girls play Coach Pitch. Boys and Girls in 1st grade may choose either T-Ball or Machine-Pitch (Boys) or Coach-Pitch (Girls). April 1: Men's and Women's Spring Soccer (six-on-six) early registrations ends. Early Fee: $200.
