Christmas In Summit County ' Christmas with all the bright colorful lights, Christmas; music and wrapping of presents is such a special time of the year.' No other season is recognized with so much gaiety and good will. Hopefully, the ground will be blanketed with snow and beautiful blue skies will be a backdrop for green pines and snow-covered branches. Traditions dictate gifts to be chosen and exchanged. Years ago, only the small children received gifts and they were few and the cost was minimal as money was scarce. The only money many families had was the milk or cream check. Luckily, they raised their own vegetables to be canned and their meat which was frozen during the winter in nature's own freezer and salted for summer use. An orange at Christmas time was a once a year treat.
