I wasnt unhappy playing Frank Buck in Bring Em Back Alive, I was just unhappy that it wasnt received well. But I think it did get me into Scarecrow & Mrs. King. It got me notoriety and I got to play a leading man LOS ANGELES for a season. It showed me in a favorable light. So when it came time to find a partner for Kate I was there. I wasnt just the new guy. I had something of a name. Bring Em Back Alive was Boxleitners first opportunity for a solo starring role in a series. He was James Arness nephew in How the West Was Won and Kenny Rogers protege in the TV movie The Gambler. He starred in the miniseries East of Eden and The Last Convertible and such theatrical features as The Baltimore Bullet and TRON.
