Show m Auditor Says Arms Prices Outrag eous Because of Career-Fearin- g Officers WASHINGTON (UPI) An Air Force auditor charged in a document made available Saturday the armed forces pay outrageous prices for weapons because military officers, fearful about their careers once they leave tiie service, control the buying process. As a result, the defense industry has seized control of the government because it frequently hires the officers upon their retirement, the document said.
