He replaces Gerry Gimelstob, who left to accept a similar position at the University of Indiana under Bobby Knight. Tripucka will assist Coach Pimm with the Ute varsity and is in charge of recruiting in Utah and the Mid-Weand East. The Tripucka graduated from Lafayette in 1972 with a bachelor's degree in English.
