The Franklin Quest Championship, formerly the Franklin Showdown Classic, will be held this year at Park Meadows Golf Club instead of at Jeremy Ranch According to Franklin Quest's president, Arlen Crouch, 78 golfers will compete August 13-15 13-15 for a purse of $500,000-an increase of $100,000 over last year's purse. "The additional prize money and play on the Jack Nicklaus-designed Nicklaus-designed Park Meadows course will help attract many of the best-known best-known senior golfers this year," Mi-. Crouch was quoted as saying, in a release put out by Franklin Quest. "We expect this to be the most exciting tournament in the state's long history of excellent golf." Franklin Quest had scheduled a press conference March 31 to formally announce the name and location change. The tournament's advisory committee was expected to be named at the meeting. The committee was expected to include former governor Norman Bangerter and banker Michael Danielson. ( xx . p-: . photos by Alex Wells Read the letters to the editor. Nineteen local junior figure skaters entertained tourists and parents in a downpour March 28 at the Resort Center rink. The skaters, who are coached by Heather Clancy, performed their own routines, to music they selected themselves. They wore a variety of costumes which suited their particular styles. According to rink manager Sherry Hackney, the skaters took lessons throughout the winter to prepare for the event. Some skaters worked out daily on the ice surface there; others skated only on Saturdays. . 1 I J i i" f Specialty Medicine Close To Home We've just added one more advantage tn livino ;n Part r;t a i... oltice with 1 6 physicians, ready and waiting to get to know you.
