"Christmas Around the World" 5" is the theme of this year's which . will commence at 1500 South and i continue along Bountiful's Main J Street to 300 North at 10 a.m., Sat- urday, Dec. 1. 5 The Bountiful Jaycees are spon- S soring the parade which will S. showcase floats depicting the inter- l national theme. In connection with this year's event which ushers in the Christmas season, the Jaycees have combined their efforts with local scout troops in a "yellow ribbon' ' campaign. The scouts will place yellow ribbons along Main Street in an effort to remind local citizens of the troops participating in Operation Desert Shield in Saudi Arabia. The goal of the drive is to collect food and other articles from Davis County residents interested in sen ding items to the troops. The scouts will collect the goods and with the help of the Jaycees, prepare them for shipment. The collected items should reach Saudi Arabia before Christmas. Anyone interested in contributing may do so by dropping items in special boxes which will be available Dec. 3 through Dec. 6 at Five Points Mall, Carr Stationery, and Servus Drug. Guidelines for items to be sent will be published in Saturday's Clipper. |
