Show BHS senior ; earns Air Force post Richard C. Blake, 17, a senior at Bountiful High School, has received receiv-ed a prestigious appointment to the U.S. Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs, Colo. Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, nominated nomi-nated Blake because of his outstanding outstan-ding scholastic record and his desire to serve his country. "Richard is one of 52 nominated Utahns who will get the chance to attend one of the four U.S. military schools," said Hatch. ' Richard is among the few who have excelled, a direct result of many years of hard work and personal per-sonal discipline. It is a great honor and privilege for you to receive this appointment to the academy," Hatch Hat-ch told Blake. "You have developed de-veloped unique leadership, physical and scholastic qualities which led to your selection by the academy." Richard is a 3.9 (GPA) student, ranked 17th in his class of 344 at Bountiful High School. He is active academically, athletically and provides pro-vides service to his church and community. He is on the National Ho or Society, High Honor Roll and listed in the Who's Who Among High School students in America, the Outstanding High School Students of America and is the recipient of the U.S. Leadership Award, All-American All-American Scholars and U.S. Achievement Academy Awards. Richard is a member of the Hugh O'Brian Leadership Foundation, the Sen. Orrin Hatch Youth Advisory Committee, and is this year's school Debate Manager. |
