Show Trainees and engineers complete Fire training By JAMS STUART BOUmTFUI-Training classes for new trainees and engineers for the Bountiful Fire Department were conducted in November. After raising 1,883 feet of fire department ladders, pulling 26,000 feet of fire hose, and putting on self-contained self-contained breathing apparatus units more than 360 times, five firefighters completed the basic training to join the Davis County Fire Department Training, which included 50 hours in the classroom and 80 hours of 'hands-on work, developed teamwork skills among the firefighters. Curtis Day and George Mason spent nine weeks instructing Eric Stayten, Steve Cox, Bryant Ives, Dave Tuttle and Alisha Rydalch, and covering 16 subjects including basics, from putting on coats and helmets to carrying fire hoses up stairs. All but one of the trainees have already completed emergency medical training, and that one is currently obtaining emergency medical training. Half of the people who started the class did not complete the demanding training. The fire department places strict standards on its members, including hair cut restrictions, dress restrictions and completion of para-military training. train-ing.
