Show Former BYU grid player to be arraigned on drug charges A former Brigham Young University Uni-versity football player will be arraigned ar-raigned in Provo Fourth District Court Friday on charges of attempting attemp-ting to distribute cocaine. Kirk Pendleton, who played wide end for the Cougars from 1980 until 1983, waived preliminary hearing last week. He is charged with attempting at-tempting to distribute cocaine to undercover agents on three different dates last November. Pendleton's charges are second-degree second-degree felony and are punishable by up to 16 years in prison and $10,000 in fines. He served as a graduate coach for the Cougars during the first part of the 1989 football season, but was released from his coaching duties and suspended from BYU when charges were filed. He is free on his own recognizance. |
