He was born Dec 31, 1911. in Salt Lake City to (Sri Gustaf and Judith Persson-Andersson Persson-Andersson Strand. He married Grace McKean Nov. 15, 1940 i West Bountiful.. Later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple Dec 6,1963. He was a member of the "Moonlighter" square dance club for 14 years up until the time of his death. ." He was an elder in the LDS -Church,-where he was an avid genealogist ge-nealogist and was active in the name extraction program. He won many ribbons with his woodcarvings. He loved sports, hunting and fishing. He, along with his family, was an avid rock hound. Member of the Utah State Historical Society. He was in the CCC camp during the 1930's. He is survived by his wife Grace, of West Bountiful; children, Randy and Dott, Bountiful; Dianna and Larry Tracy, West Bountiful; Dixie and Layne Heiner, Layton; Emery Stand, Amy Strand and Kay Sellers of West Bountiful. Mother, Judith, Midvale; eight grandchildren, one EINAR HAROLD STRAND great-grandchild; brothers and sister, Herbert Strand, Layton; Thelma Casper and Elmer Strand, both Midvale. Preceded in death by brother, Lennart. Funeral services were held Oct. 19, West Bountiful Ninth Ward. Interment: Bountiful City Cemetery. Funeral directors: Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary. |
