ByJANIS STUART WOODS CROSS-The city council permanently tabled a request re-quest from Olympic Chairman Del Rowe to vote yes or no on whether it supports the Olympics in Utah. City Administrator Bret Wahlen offered a comprehensive study of the impact of Olympics on . Utah for the council's review. However; Councilman David Wright ojpposed the proclamation itself stating, "They (Olympic sup porters) are trying to use it as a ploy to get city government to influence people to go their way. " A motion was made to not support sup-port the proclamation. Commissioner Glen Jenkins stated, "If we vote against the proclamation, proc-lamation, it will appear that we are voting against the Olympics." A motion was then made to not vote either way. The council then removed the motion to support and , moved to table the issue permanently. |
